According to one online article, the look and feel of Blueprint Cultural & Creative Park (BCP) 蓝晒图文创园区 was inspired by street graffati. Transformed from a cluster of old government dormitories, the cultural zone showcases an iconic, trick-art 3D blue and white house right at its entrance, as well as beautiful graffiti walls in various spots. It is no wonder BCP has become a must-go in Tainan for both the young and old.
Over two visits, I managed to see the park in both its day and night time glory, though the 3D blue house is best appreciated after the sun goes down.
Located right opposite a Shin Kong Mitsukoshi 新光三越 mall (which makes a convenient next parter), the park's mascot Blue stands tall and prominent along a busy main road.
The 3D blue house at the entrance is a fascinating piece of art, inviting you to visually "align" the white lines from various angles to form a complete picture. The playful inclusion of illustrated household amenities within the house makes for good photography, as you explore every nook and corner.
That's not all to BCP, even if you may have found yourself quite engaged at the entrance.
The layout of shops and eateries makes an easy stroll...
This black cat is apparently quite a celebrity here - the shopowner leaves a sign telling customers to ask the cat, when she is away.

The dining options are not to be missed. Introducing two establishments I liked very much. Firstly, an ice cream bar and frites shop called Our Bar. The french fries and "tempura" (choice of two dips per serving) make a good snack to share, though you probably need two portions for three pax. Their ice cream assortment amazes with its daring flavours and creative presentation - I was spoilt for choice and did not resist having one before and another after dinner (ok, gluttony at work).
Right opposite Our Bar is Secret 小觅秘, a fusion noodle place that fed me dinner on both trips.
The ground floor has some bar seats by the window (as well as a washroom), but note that you'll basically look out to Our Bar (and its patrons lining the outside of Secret).
A menu chalkboard lists the decent variety. The staff are generally friendly and happy to make recommendations, so feel free to find out what's good (unless it's really crowded?).
A separate display of side dishes entices you for add-ons.
