Pier 2 驳二's strategic location along Kaohsiung Port comes with another benefit - the abundance of space that has seen some old warehouses creatively converted into cultural, retail and dining zones. Peng Lai Warehouse 蓬莱仓库 is one of the three clusters, and nearest Sizihwan MRT Station 西子湾捷運站.

Upon exiting Sizihwan MRT Station 西子湾捷運站, continue walking straight ahead and make a left turn into the first main road, bringing you to the open field of Peng Lai Warehouse 蓬莱仓库 on your left. (On your right is a large carpark at KW2 栈贰库.)
Cutting across the open field with sporadically placed public art installation, in thematic metalwork complementing old railway tracks. Even with some crowd, the vast expanse of open field makes a delightful stroll for all ages (and breeds!).
The upside down house was one of the travelling (and ticketed) exhibitions.
Some snack and beverage stalls line one side of the field, though opening hours vry.
Walking through the open field, the warehouse cluster falls within sight.
The most prominent tenant here is possibly Hamasen Museum of Taiwan Railway 哈玛星台湾铁路馆, not to be mistaken with Takao Railway Museum 打狗铁道故事馆. A ticketed attraction that comprises an indoor exhibition area and a hard-to-miss outdoor mini railway ride, the latter is extremely popular with families and couples. Both museums are on my to-see list when I revisit.
The mini railway track weaves through the warehouse cluster, so look out for approaching trains when alerted by service crew.
▼ Pier 2 驳二's mascot couple - worker and fisherwoman - appears in various designs throughout the clusters.
▼ More art installation at the warehouse cluster
▼ The preserved warehouses present beautifully raw finishes and corners.
▼ Besides Hamasen Museum of Taiwan Railway 哈玛星台湾铁路馆, there is a handful of other tenants and operators, and occasional exhibitor.
In comparison with the other clusters, F&B offerings are limited here, though dining in on one visit at In Our Time.
(Refer to Pier 2 驳二's official website for the most updated list of tenants.)
▼ A pretty cool retail, diner and event venue, and welcomed air-conditioned respite from the southern heat.
▼ Came prepared to try their railway bento - 招牌布包便当 NT$250, which comes wrapped in in Blooom 印花乐's fabric (sadly not for keeps).
