CH Garden 千桦花园 is a small, tranquil garden cafe, included in my two-night stay planned around Xinshe Flower Fest. As most attractions and dining areas are located within proximity and short drives, it is well worth searching for such places to supplement your Xinshe 新社 itinerary.

A large garden welcomes visitors, guided along a pathway to a two-storey glass house cafe.

The glass house cafe surrounded by and adorned by all sorts of plants.

Not much of a plant person myself nor blessed with green fingers, but it felt nice spending time in such a lovely environment. Must be alot of work maintaining the premises.

The garden is opened to visitors, for an admission fee of NT$100, which can be offset for dine-in. Also, I had made a prior reservation, though there was no crowd (max 3 tables occupied while we were there) - always for peace of mind especially if you have a big group, kids or elders in tow.

The drinks menu is more extensive than their food offerings for afternoon tea, the latter comprising slightly more than a handful of desserts and savoury items like spaghetti. We were here before dinner (our stubborn indulgence), so we went as light as possible, opting for hot chamomile tea 洋甘菊茶 by the pot (NT$200), iced caffe latte 冰拿铁咖啡 (NT$180) and their dessert platter 千桦花园甜品盘 (NT$240).

To be honest, the dessert platter was just decent, not particularly stunning, but looks pretty and good enough for our purpose. Was more pleased with my iced latte, thick and flavourful.

I took a break from my afternoon tea to stroll the garden, which was unexpectedly large (no wonder deserving an admission fee). Be sure to make time for it, besides enjoying your meal.
