Pinglin Tea Museum 坪林茶业博物馆, part of my Pinglin day trip 坪林一日游 and not to be mistaken with Tea Cultural Museum 茶产业文化馆, is about 15mins stroll from Pinglin Old Street - though it's advisable to cater more time for the scenic route.
There is a bus stop right in front of the museum, but the two buses seem to only trawl the vicinity and frequency is hourly on weekdays and every 20mins on weekends.
I must say the exhibitions are pretty impressive and well done for an admission fee of NTD80. New Taipei City residents and many other groups enjoy free admission - hopefully a privilege well enjoyed by the stipulated groups. I spent slightly over a leisurely hour (that felt longer) here at two halls.
Entering the ticketed area, the premises are spacious, clean and wheelchair/pram-friendly. On a Sunday afternoon, there was a healthy crowd (primarily families with kids) and no recognisable foreign tourists - Pinglin is a really good option if you are searching for somewhere off the tourist radar.

⇩ A digital app guide that I didn't use. Noteably, the main exhibit signages are in Chinese, English and Japanese, a commendable move for an attraction in the outskirts.

⇩ A short sheltered walkway links to the second exhibition hall, which houses changing exhibitions.
⇩ 1 of the current 2 - The Great Tea Alchemists: Craftsmanship of Tea Production in Taiwan 大链茶师-制茶工艺文化 (info not available in English), which runs till 1 Sep 2019.

⇩ Another interactive corner, inviting visitors to "summon" prominent historical figures (by rubbing the kettles!) who made tea cultivation here possible.
⇩ The 2nd exhibit at the basement (elevator available, and also where the public toilet is) - Teagather: Tea Culture Around the World 共茗: 世界茶文化之旅, which runs till 10 Nov 2019.
The exhibits are delicately put together with little barriers - rather brave of the exhibitor. I witnessed a kid tresspassing to mishandle the props - a gentle reminder to parents with young children to keep them in check. Such exhibitions are painstakingly put together for everyone's enjoyment, and deserve basic respect for public etiquette, regardless of the monetary value of exhibits.
